Hey there!

I’m Aleesha, and I’m honoured to have you here. I’m a mama, writer, early childhood educator, coach, and postpartum doula in-training, and I’m combining these areas of expertise to support folks in the first third of their life in Central Alberta. I’m claiming these descriptions because these are the things that bring my life meaning, joy, and blisters. I don’t do any of these things perfectly—I suspect I still have much to uncover—but they are the expressions of my authentic self and represent the ways I hope to participate in bringing forth a more beautiful world.

I’m an adult with an office!

I’ve been working with children and youth for 12+ years now, in a variety of capacities: volunteer mentor to teenagers (which turned into a small paid position), before and after school care, live-in mentor for young women in transitional housing, nannying, running a dayhome, and, of course, raising my own babies. I began my Early Learning and Child Care certificate in 2020 and finished just before my second child was born. I have since completed a coaching course, started a postpartum doula program, and began working as a First Third Minister with Sunnybrook United Church in Red Deer. Being in ministry was never part of the plan, but as I sought to answer the call of my one wild and precious life, the pieces started to fall into place to bring me here.

There is no One Right Way when it comes to living in this world. My hope is to journey meaningfully with this community by asking the right questions, challenging narratives that aren’t helpful, and offering safe spaces that allow all folks to feel safe, seen, and held. You are the expert of your own life, but sometimes that still, small voice gets distorted or silenced by all the noise. I hope we can discover it together.
